Colour Pop Review

Colour Pop is another up and coming company that is making a huge boom in the beauty community. They have a range of extremely affordable makeup from lipsticks to highlighters and bronzers, varying from as low as $5 to $8...who could pass that up?!

So here's what I picked up...

Super Shock Cheek Highlighters

Lunch Money is a light peachy gold highlight. Stole The Show is a true champagne highlight. They are both very similar so I wouldn't say you absolutely needed both of them. When swatched, Stole The Show is the tiniest bit lighter.
COST. ONLY $8!!!!!!
TEXTURE. The texture of these highlighters is nothing like I've  ever experienced before. You dip your finger into the pot and first you think its a cream, but then it starts to feel more like a gel, and when you finally put it on your skin it turns into a powder. It's crazy, but I like it! And because of this weird consistency, they don't look powdery or chalky what so ever, it's easy to get them to mimic the texture of your own skin.
APPLICATION. They apply the most pigmented with your fingers, medium opacity with a traditional flat foundation or concealer brush and pretty sheer with a stippling brush. I also tried to apply these with my beauty blender, but I found the other techniques to be the easiest and most effective.
LONGEVITY. I find that these actually last a very long time. About 8+ hours. I went my full day and these were just as pigmented as when I first put them on.

Super Shock Cheek Blushes

Holiday is a peachy pink. Olive is a true baby pink (comes off kind of mauve in the pot but swatches more baby pink). Both are matte blushes.
COST. once again... ONLY $8!!!!
TEXTURE. Just like the highlighters these are a weird cream/gel/powder hybrid! There is no difference.
APPLICATION. These also apply pretty much just like the highlighters, although a bit more difficult. Most pigmented with your fingers, and sheer with a stippling brush. I do find that the blushes are not as pigmented as the highlighters. But in my opinion that is a good thing because it's safer to gradually build up your blush than be stuck trying to blend out a pile of pink powder on your face!
LONGEVITY. These blushes last just as long as the highlighters. 8+ hours. Although..the shade Olive started to fade just a little bit near the end of the day, but maybe because its a lighter color.

Lippie Sticks & Lippie Pencils

Westie is a matte cool toned pink.
Button is a satin , orangy-coral.
Cookie is a light taupy-brown matte shade.

Don't mind my terrible lip swatches.......
COST. $5!!!!!
TEXTURE & APPLICATION. The matte shades are pretty drying in my opinion..they are pretty, but drying. You definitely need to put chapstick on before you apply these or else all the fine lines in your lips are enhanced. Not a cute look. I also found that when applying the matte shades, they tugged and pulled on my lips a bit. They were not as easy to put on.
The satin shades on the other hand are great! They are very creamy and glide on your lips like butter.
LONGEVITY. The matte shades definitely last a long time, as most matte lip products do. I didn't notice any cracking, crumbling, or bleeding, but I did notice they wear off in the middle part of your lips (where your two lips meet) after about 2 or 3 hours.
The satin shades don't last as long as the matte ones, but they still last a substantial amount of time, about 4-5 hours. For some reason the shade Cookie bleeds a little bit on me, but Button doesn't.

                                                              THE VERDICT?
You can't go wrong with any of these products really. Especially for the great price. I would say my favorite item would be the Super Shock Cheek highlighters. It hard to find a good, cheap highlighter. Drug store highlighters always seem to be chalky or unnecessarily glittery. In second place I would put the satin Lippie Sticks. To me, they are comparable to some MAC lipsticks, but for a fraction of the price! Next, the blushes. They are almost up there with the highlighters, but a little more difficult to apply. Last is the matte Lippie Sticks. Dont't get me wrong, I still really like them, but I can't wear them without some sort of lip treatment on under them.
All in all, Colour Pop is phenomenal brand who understands girls who want high end quality for drugstore prices!
